What's New on The Science Fiction Gallery

June 1997

We have added a new section called Reviews, which takes a look at our film reviews, as well as adds an important new feature, a look at new and classic works of scifi in the written form. With mention of fine authors such as Asimov, McCaffery and new talents such as Elizabeth Moon and David Weber, it should be interesting reading for those who also like to read as well as go to the movies.

We have also updated the text again with more information on films due out this summer, see Summer of 1997. See what we thought of the Lost World!

And finally, we added a few names to our Box Office Heroes category, ensuring that we didn't leave out a number of actresses that have cashed in to the Scifi money train, some of our favorite classic actors with Scifi credits, and a few notable actors whose SciFi films we enjoyed.

May 1997

We have updated the text on several of the films due out this month and next, see Summer of 1997 for what we thought of The Fifth Element!

April 1997

We have added a page describign some of the Scifi films due out this summer, see Summer of 1997.

December 1996

We have updated the "button panel" above to add the four new areas we've added over the last six months, these being so popular they 've kept us quite busy!

We have also upgraded the TV for 1996 reviews to include the final season before the end of the year. We also make some interesting suggestions on how to liven up things for the Star Trek 1 series, both of which are beginning to fade. In addition, we have upgraded the Babylon 5 analysis in the Science Fiction on TV analysis section.

October 1996

Time Travel - A new page attempting to detail the many ins and outs of time travel (what you don't know how yet?). This section was added at the request of one of our fans (J.J. Lewis - jjar0505@airmail.net), so send him a note of thank you if you like the idea.

We also fielded a request from a fan to start up a section on Japanese Monster Movies

Yes!! Take yet another look at the robots page, we have some new Star Wars droids that you've probably never heard of but are well documented in Star Wars trivia collections. You actually have seen these new guys on the big screen!

Also, we added a bit more depth to our coverage of TV in 1996.

September 1996

Take another look at the robots page, we have added quite a few...

May 1996

New Places to Visit: We recommend you visit Harper Collins Voyager Sci-Fi page, and the Nebula Search Page

We have some reviews already written and some films to see...let us know if we have missed any good ones this summer.

Here's a fun idea we have been running for several months now: It's called the Robot Contest. Name robots that have been on television or appeard in films. No one wins anything, it's just a fun thing to think about. Give it a try before clicking on the link. The rules are:

  1. No Cyborgs
  2. No computers
  3. No cartoon bots
  4. They have to be completely autonomous

November 1995, thru January, 1996

have been our months for editing. Much to do, and little time to do it:). You might take a moment to look through our Comments files, they contain much up-to-date info on subjects discussed in The Science Fiction Gallery, including some very interesting opinions of our visitors. Most of the activity from here on out will be in the comments section.

October 20, 1995:

We have added a "Text User" version of the home page for those folks who don't have imagemap (grapics navigation) capability or have slow datacomm connections and hate to wait for the large imagemap download.

September, 1995:

We have modified the second SCI-FI TV graphic, adding V!, Earth 2 and Blakes 7 to our list of favorite TV shows, as well as reviews for each of these.
We have added a new section, British TV written by our guest editor Paolo Torchio, writing from Italy about his favorite SciFi TV programs on British Television.

August 19:

We had hoped to have a new section dealing with Science Fiction in Literature ready by now. We have added the first page of text to be used in the analysis of a fairly extensive list of the important sci-fi literary works. Like other sections we will have a large graphic listing the titles and a one line description. For now, give us comments as inspired by the text.

July 1995:

We've added four new lists/sections to Science Fiction Gallery, "The Notables", "New in Summer '95", "Sci-Fi Themes" a quick listing of the popular themes in today's science fiction movies and/or television; "Box Office Heroes" a list of the actors who are some of the highest paid and most wanted in the film industry ...all doing some pretty classy sci-fi films or TV series; and "New for Summer of 1996", a listing (and reviews as we see them) of Sci-Fi this summer.

July 19:

We've added a section on Japanese Anime. Thanks to all of you who sent in Email to help us figure out what to review as well as your comments. Surprisingly everyone commenting was pretty shy about having their name listed with the comments, so a special thanks to all the Mr or Ms. Anonymous' out there.

July 7:

We have added links and data on Dr. Who, as well as the first two imagemaps for SCI-FI TV.

July 17:

The Links on the image maps are, for the most part, now operational.
However, a few are waiting on data entry.
